Thank you.

If you have just completed the ‘Survey Methods for UK Woodland Mammals’ questionnaire – thank you.

The questionnaire will be open until 31 March; at which time the data collected will be analysed to assess the current use of different survey methods in the UK, the financial viability of camera trapping at a UK-wide scale, and other important elements which may offer strong evidence to support recommendations presented in my undergraduate dissertation thesis. I intend to present the findings as a survey report on The Mammal Society website (http://www.mammal.org.uk) where you will be able to find the results of this study.

If you are able to disseminate this questionnaire to colleagues and contacts involved in mammal surveying (excluding small mammals, bats and marine species), I would greatly appreciate your support. I believe by maximising participation, the results may be more representative of the views of UK mammal surveyors, thereby increasing the validity of conclusions and providing greater power for recommendations.

If you have not yet done so, and feel you may be able to contribute to the questionnaire by way of expressing your views on UK research methods, please send me an email: Nathan.Roberts@Cumbria.ac.uk. Thank you.
